Travel
The University of Alabama is located in Tuscaloosa, approximately 60
miles west of Birmingham, the closest major airport, on US 50/29. From
the airport or from Birmingham, take US 50/29 West towards Tuscaloosa.
Exit on Exit 73, McFarland Blvd, and turn right (north). Exit from McFarland
(from the right lane), to University Blvd. West, following signs for the
Paul "Bear" Bryant Museum, which is located on campus next to
the Four Points Sheraton hotel on Paul Bryant Ave.
Most major carriers fly directly into Birmingham. Rental cars can be reserved
through most major rental car agencies at the Birmingham airport. Participants
who are flying into Birmingham often coordinate with each other and share
the cost of a rental car. Several limousine services also offer transportation
between the Birmingham Airport and Tuscaloosa; they must be reserved several
weeks in advance. Their numbers are:
Door-to-Door Shuttle (888) 349-1544
Executive Shuttle Network (205) 702-4566 <www.eSHUTTLE.net>
